For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. (Titus 2:11–14 ESV)
In the days I preach at our worship gatherings, I have been focusing on the theme of Our Coming King, with special emphasis on how to live for Christ as we await His glorious return. The above passage summarizes well how we should now live. May the truth of Christ’s return truly be your “blessed hope,” and may you, by the power of Christ’s indwelling Spirit, live a holy life that shows this lost world who our great God and Savior Jesus Christ really is, and what His eternal Kingdom looks like.
Thank you for praying for our family. Our girls and their spouses are truly blessed, and are a blessing to others.
Maria is beginning her first full-time teaching position. She is a kindergarten teacher at one of our community elementary schools. She is having a blast! She celebrated an August birthday. Here she is with her new team.
Victoria and Noah are doing well, with Victoria preparing her choir room for her students to return and Noah enjoying a renewed interest in photography. Here is a picture from their most recent choir trip to Disney.
Rebekah and Tim are thrilled to be moving into a new apartment soon, as their current rental was sold by the owner. Rebekah enjoyed celebrating a July birthday. Here is a picture from a recent excursion to Pennsylvania.
Again, thank you so much for praying for them, and for your continued prayer on their behalf. May God be glorified as they continue to seek Him and lovingly serve Him.
And please continue to pray for Leah and myself. Please pray for Leah’s healing from her various health challenges. And please pray for my own health journey.
I recently had a visit to my neurologist and an encouraging brain MRI – no strokes, aneurisms, tumors, and yes, they found a brain. I also have an upcoming surgery scheduled to deal with cataracts and glaucoma. A second surgery will be held in September, and another eye surgery (this time in Little Rock) will take place in December. (My ophthalmologist declared that my eyes are a “trainwreck”!) Pray for God’s miraculous healing hand to be evident.
I have had many doctor appointments in the past month, and look forward to many more (August 15, 22, 24, 25, 29, September 18, 19, 26, and October 16.) Arkansas recently cut back on their Medicaid roles and I was one of those who did not make the cut. I still have my Medicare Advantage plan, for which I am thankful, but not having Medicaid has cost me about $1,600 in the past two months (with more medical costs to come), and now I have to take taxis to appointments instead of Medicaid transportation. Russellville friends, if any of you can give me a lift on any of the above dates, I would be very appreciative. Please pray for our financial situation, as the cost has eaten up almost an entire month of my $1,800 disability check. May God’s provision be another opportunity for Him to receive glory.
God continues to bless us in ways too numerous to count. May you be aware of His blessings in your own life, especially the multitude of spiritual blessings you have in Christ
How can I pray for you? Please let me know. We love and appreciate you!
