Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Psalm 68:19

How we want to praise our loving Lord for His constant care. His mercies are new every morning. He daily bears us up, no matter what we are facing. The Lexham English Bible translates “daily bears us up” as “daily he loads us with benefits.” How has He “loaded you up” today?

God is our salvation. The Hebrew word for “salvation” is the same root as the name of Jesus, meaning “YHWH saves.” “Salvation” can also be translated as “victory.” We truly have “victory in Jesus.” How has He given you victory today?

Our family continues to experience the wonderful, daily blessing of our Savior. We asked for prayer for Rebekah and Tim and their housing situation. We praise the Lord that at least for now, they can remain in their apartment. They are both doing well with their jobs and church ministries. They are currently working through the grief of losing Tim’s best friend, Greg. They planned his memorial service and miss him terribly.

Victoria and Noah both are enjoying their jobs and are both on their church’s worship team. Victoria’s middle school choir had some of the highest evaluation scores of any middle school in the state. Victoria and Noah have been running and working out lately. They even ran together in a local road race. Here are some pictures of their accomplishment.

Maria taught the entire last semester at an elementary school in a neighboring city as a long-term sub. She enjoyed her experience and is in the interview process for various teaching positions around our area. Here she is with her team.

Leah enjoyed celebrating her birthday. Here’s her cake and a not-quite-recent photo. (She has become more camera shy as the years progressed.)

I spent some time recently thanking God for Leah. She is so wise, gifted, and talented. She is an incredibly loving wife and mother. She is passionately devoted to Jesus. As I observe her ministry of intercession, I wonder if I know how to pray at all! Yet, in my prayer time, I couldn’t help but focus on one word that describes her – content. While she is homebound because of her health, she is still completely content in Christ. While I do a terrible job being a provider for my family, she is content with all we have. She lives out the truth of Hebrews 13:5, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you’” and 2 Corinthians 12:10, “For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” How thankful I am for my precious bride!

Leah and I would appreciate prayer for our health. Leah continues to battle pain from fibromyalgia and arthritis, kidney issues, diabetes, mental illness, and constant stomach problems. My severe neuropathy continues to slowly progress. My hands have continuous pain. I am being tested for several eye problems, including a detached retina, glaucoma, and cataracts. A stubborn bought of bronchitis has pushed back my testing dates.

Please also pray we will be good stewards of what God provides. We are concerned with events in Washington D.C., as we are dependent upon my disability check and need it on time. (Leah does not qualify for disability, as she does not have enough past work credits.) With the end of the national COVID health emergency, we will face significant increases in our health and insurance costs. Pray we will handle God’s blessings wisely.

How can I pray for you? Please let me know. We love and appreciate you!
